About The Position

This is an entry-level plant production position at Saputo. The role opens bulk cheese, places cheese on the production line, operates cheese cutters and shredders, packs finished product into cases, and stacks completed cases on pallets, rotating among tasks hourly. The position supports cheese cutting and shredding operations, packaging, sanitation, housekeeping, and production reporting while complying with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Overtime may be required as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or one year of demonstrated work experience.
• Good math skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including software use and data entry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Good attendance.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Strong work character and work ethic, with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to multitask and follow instructions.
• Self-motivated and self-directed approach to supporting complex operations.
• Critical-thinking and analytical ability; attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in food manufacturing or warehousing; dairy food manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of SAP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate infeed cheese to the cheese cutting or shredding department.
• Manually feed cheese onto a conveyor belt leading to the scale and wrapper.
• Fill cases with finished packages by count or weight and place filled cases into carton sealers; case sizes include 6, 20, 30, and 40 pounds.
• Stack completed cases on pallets according to the current pallet configuration and count on the product template.
• Clean and sanitize production equipment.
• Fill and operate dry ingredient dispensers as needed.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks in the cheese portioning and shredding department.
• Change tape in carton sealers.
• Report daily production on required forms.
• Return rejected packages from the casing area to the packing area and open rejected packages onto the line or into the trim barrel.
• Maintain good sanitation and housekeeping practices and comply with quality-system and regulatory requirements.
• Work safely and efficiently.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Perform other job duties as required.
