About The Position

General Labor is responsible for safely handling lumber products and verifying that materials meet customer requirements and company expectations. The role involves moving, stacking, labeling, bundling, and securing lumber, as well as recording production and maintaining an organized work area. General Labor also assists other work areas and participates in safety, continuous improvement, and other company programs and meetings.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
Manufacturing or lumber experience preferred; no minimum experience is required.
Working knowledge of basic math preferred.

Responsibilities

Move and secure lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and customer requirements.
Label material by type, size, and count, and apply individual tags before or after treating or production.
Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
Band, bundle, and secure material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks.
Stack material properly according to company policy and customer requirements.
Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area.
Maintain an accurate inventory of tags and report problems or discrepancies to a supervisor.
Record production on production sheets.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assist other work areas by moving material and loading and unloading material carts.
Participate in safety, continuous improvement, and other programs and meetings.
Perform other duties as required.
