About The Position

Millwood is hiring a general laborer to perform hands-on physical work and operate machinery to support production efficiency and customer satisfaction. The position involves inspecting and repairing pallets, handling and storing materials, sorting and stacking products, maintaining a safe and organized work area, and completing required documentation. The position is based at one location in La Vergne, Tennessee, and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret the imperial system.
• Successful completion of pneumatic nailer training.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to stand, bend or stoop, kneel, lift, reach, and perform other physical tasks during an 8–10-hour shift.
• Ability to maintain a safe and tidy workspace.
• Ability to understand and complete job tasks accurately.

Responsibilities

• Observe all safety guidelines and protocols.
• Inspect pallets for defects, including broken boards or blocks, missing components, nail defects, debris, and contamination; correct defects that do not meet specifications.
• Lift and carry materials as needed.
• Store materials and products appropriately to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
• Assist with waste disposal and recycling activities.
• Sort and stack pallets and materials by size and grade using APC methods.
• Complete and submit required documentation in a timely manner.
• Comply with applicable safety practices, procedures, federal, state, and local codes, and OSHA regulations and requirements.
• Clean and maintain assigned work areas in an organized manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
