General Labor I- C&D
About The Position
Maker's Pride has a variety of general labor openings throughout its facilities. Previous manufacturing experience is not needed; a strong work ethic and the ability to work in a team environment are important. Assigned duties may include mixing products, weighing or scaling material, packaging material, or supplying production lines. Employees must be reliable and follow industry-standard Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) at all times. Some GMP requirements vary by location; for example, artificial nails or eyelashes, nail polish, and jewelry may not be permitted while producing or packaging food products. This is a manufacturing and team environment involving exposure to a variety of machines, noise levels, and temperatures that may be very cold or very warm. Employees must work respectfully and professionally with others and be able to work necessary overtime based on staffing needs and customer demand, as well as across shifts. The position requires standing and working with hands throughout the shift and lifting at least 25 pounds.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have sufficient math skills.
- Must be able to understand and follow safety policies and procedures.
- Must be willing to learn GMPs or already be knowledgeable about them.
- Must be able to stand and work with hands throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
- Must be able to work necessary overtime based on staffing needs and customer demand, and across shifts.
- Must be able to work together and communicate respectfully and professionally in a team environment.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read and write in English preferred.
- Previous manufacturing experience is not needed.
Responsibilities
- Inspect product for quality and signs of foreign material contamination.
- Supply production lines as needed.
- Place product correctly on the line or in containers, boxes, or pallets.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Follow applicable Good Manufacturing Practices and safety policies and procedures.
