About The Position

Basalite Building Products, LLC is hiring a General Labor, Concrete employee to support Secondary Operations across production. Under the supervision of the Secondary Operations Supervisor, the employee operates and adjusts equipment, feeds production lines, checks product quality, and maintains a clean work area. The employee is expected to demonstrate the company’s Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation, and Financial Success, follow safety requirements, and perform other related duties as assigned. This is a regular, full-time position requiring open shift availability and availability for shift rotations, including weekends. The work takes place in a plant environment with wet and humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather, heat or cold, vibration, and very loud noise. Mandatory and/or appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn.

Requirements

Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
On-the-job training experience required to perform the duties.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to operate a splitter, cuber, forklift, and other equipment required for the duties.
Availability for shift rotations, including weekends.
Ability to stand, walk, talk/listen, grasp, push and pull with both hands, reach below shoulder level, and occasionally bend at the waist.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening; a background check and/or credit check may also be required depending on the position.

Responsibilities

Operate equipment efficiently and safely.
Adjust equipment for the product being produced.
Feed production lines.
Check materials for proper quality.
Clean the work area.
Attend safety meetings and follow company and regulatory safety rules; report and ensure correction of hazardous conditions.
Maintain predictable and regular attendance.
Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the company or its designated representatives.
