About The Position

This role involves performing assigned tasks and additional duties as directed by a supervisor in a foundry environment. Key responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness of various work areas such as the charge bucket pit, Bond Bin deck, sort table area, and under the knife gate. The position requires the ability to operate specific machinery like the wheelabrator and cut-off saw safely. A crucial aspect of the job is maintaining a steady pace while picking castings off the sort table, moving and handling castings, gates, and cut-offs as directed. The individual must be able to distinguish between good and defective castings and adhere strictly to all safety rules, procedures, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements

• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal work instructions.
• Knowledge of safety checkpoints and ability to follow safety procedures.
• Understanding of quality policy requirements.
• Ability to follow established tagging procedures.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, climb stairs, and use hands/arms effectively.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. occasionally and perform frequent pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned tasks and additional duties as directed by the supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness of charge bucket pit, Bond Bin deck, around sort table area, and under knife gate.
• Operate wheelabrator.
• Maintain a steady pace of picking castings off the sort table.
• Move and handle castings, gates and cut off as directed.
• Determine the difference between good and defective casting.
• Operate cut-off saw in a safe manner.
• Follow all safety rules, procedures, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
