Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions accurately
  • Basic proficiency in reading, writing, mathematics, and verbal communication
  • Strong work ethic with good attendance and teamwork skills

  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with machinery operation and maintenance
  • Ability to work independently after training
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

  • Prepare sand cores for metal casting by molding and shaping sand mixtures using specific patterns and molds.
  • Combine sand with binding agents to achieve the desired consistency and durability.
  • Follow production schedules and ensure cores meet specifications.
  • Produce cores that consistently meet quality standards with minimal scrap or rework.
  • Operate industrial mixers and core making machines, adjusting settings and performing routine maintenance such as cleaning and calibration to ensure equipment functionality.
  • Perform hands-on machine operation and upkeep to maintain production flow.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of sand cores using measuring tools and blueprints to identify defects and ensure compliance with design and quality standards.
  • Participate in morning meetings with the team leader to review production requirements, discuss scrap and rework rates, and communicate shift information.
  • Work closely with a partner and the wider team to meet production goals.
