Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read and follow work instructions accurately
- Basic proficiency in reading, writing, mathematics, and verbal communication
- Strong work ethic with good attendance and teamwork skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with machinery operation and maintenance
- Ability to work independently after training
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Responsibilities
- Prepare sand cores for metal casting by molding and shaping sand mixtures using specific patterns and molds.
- Combine sand with binding agents to achieve the desired consistency and durability.
- Follow production schedules and ensure cores meet specifications.
- Produce cores that consistently meet quality standards with minimal scrap or rework.
- Operate industrial mixers and core making machines, adjusting settings and performing routine maintenance such as cleaning and calibration to ensure equipment functionality.
- Perform hands-on machine operation and upkeep to maintain production flow.
- Conduct thorough inspections of sand cores using measuring tools and blueprints to identify defects and ensure compliance with design and quality standards.
- Adhere to specifications and maintain low defect rates.
- Participate in morning meetings with the team leader to review production requirements, discuss scrap and rework rates, and communicate shift information.
- Work closely with a partner and the wider team to meet production goals.
