About The Position

This is a true field-leadership opportunity for an experienced electrical professional ready to run work at scale. As a General Foreman – Electrical, you’ll lead multiple crews, shape jobsite execution, and play a direct role in project success from planning through closeout. You’ll have the authority to make decisions, the trust to lead your teams your way, and the support of project management to deliver complex work safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Beyond managing work, you’ll mentor the next generation of foremen and electricians, leaving a lasting impact on both projects and people—while building a strong foundation for continued career growth into senior leadership. The General Foreman – Electrical is responsible for overseeing multiple crews and/or large-scale electrical projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of work. This role provides leadership, planning, and coordination across job sites, working closely with project management to meet schedule, budget, and productivity goals. The General Foreman serves as the primary field leader, driving performance, mentoring foremen and journeymen, and ensuring all work aligns with company standards and project requirements.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of electrical construction experience
  • 2–4+ years in a leadership role (Foreman or above)
  • Journeyman Electrician license (required)
  • Strong knowledge of: Electrical systems and installation methods, NEC and applicable codes, Construction sequencing and coordination
  • Proven ability to manage multiple crews and projects
  • Ability to read and interpret Blueprints, specifications, one-line diagrams, and panel schedules
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • High level of accountability and ownership
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate multiple electrical crews and foremen across one or more job sites
  • Provide daily direction, planning, and support to ensure work is executed safely and efficiently
  • Ensure proper staffing levels and crew assignments based on project needs
  • Mentor, coach, and develop foremen, journeymen, and apprentices
  • Plan and coordinate all phases of electrical work, including: Underground and rough-in, Conduit and wire installation, Equipment setting (panels, switchgear, transformers), Trim, finish, and commissioning
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with project schedules and milestones
  • Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and constraints proactively
  • Coordinate with other trades, general contractors, and project stakeholders
  • Work with project managers and schedulers to align field activities with project timelines
  • Monitor labor productivity and adjust crew assignments as needed
  • Participate in weekly planning and coordination meetings
  • Assist in forecasting manpower and resource needs
  • Ensure all work complies with: National Electrical Code (NEC), project specifications and drawings, & company quality standards
  • Conduct regular inspections of work in progress
  • Ensure successful inspections and project closeout
  • Enforce all company safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with project management
  • Provide updates on progress, challenges, and resource needs
  • Review and assist with RFIs, change orders, and field documentation
  • Ensure accurate reporting of time, production, and materials
