About The Position

A General Foreman supervises construction sites. They must have industry experience and be capable of directing, supervising, and resolving common problems that arise on the job. Additionally, the foreman acts as a liaison between workers and management and is the primary point of contact for site operations.

Requirements

  • Academic training can be an advantage in the construction and plumbing industry.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a General Foreman in commercial or industrial construction.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction operations and equipment.
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints.
  • Any relevant additional certification will be considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of the project manager to identify the different phases of a project.
  • Participate in the selection, hiring, and training of personnel needed to successfully complete projects.
  • Assign tasks and be responsible for overseeing project progress and keeping it within schedule and budget.
  • Ensure workers are qualified and aware of their duties, assigning tasks according to their skills.
  • Report, update progress, and make decisions related to vendor and supplier relations.
  • Guarantees safe working conditions and compliance with all company-specific safety operating procedures.
  • Coordinates construction work according to priorities and plans.
