About The Position

The General Electrical Superintendent will oversee and manage all electrical construction activities on large-scale projects, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical construction, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
  • Journeyman Electrician License or Master Electrician License preferred.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale commercial or industrial electrical projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant local electrical codes.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and grounding.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours as required by project demands.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate all electrical construction activities, including manpower, materials, and equipment.
  • Supervise and mentor electrical foremen, journeymen, and apprentices, fostering a productive and safe work environment.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Implement and enforce all company and regulatory safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety inspections and meetings.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain project schedules.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other superintendents to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Manage project budgets, tracking costs, and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure all electrical installations meet industry standards and project specifications.
  • Prepare daily reports, progress updates, and other necessary documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide technical guidance to the field team.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings and provide input on constructability and scheduling.
