About The Position

As a licensed dentist, the General Dentist provides general dentistry services, including diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, and malformations of the teeth, gums, and related oral structures. The role includes examining patients, providing treatment and preventive care, educating patients on oral and dental hygiene, and coordinating dental laboratory services. The dentist follows safety protocols, including use of protective equipment and compliance with OSHA and bloodborne pathogen requirements, and participates in office huddles, chart reviews, and meetings. The position is based in Wesley Chapel.

Requirements

• DDS or DMD degree.
• Licensed in the state where practicing, or able to obtain licensure upon graduation.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
• Commitment to quality patient care and enjoyment of educating patients on dental health.
• Effective communication skills and a professional, courteous demeanor with patients.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a general practice residency (GPR) or advanced education general dentistry residency (AEGD).

Responsibilities

• Provide general dentistry services, including diagnosis and treatment of diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth, gums, and related oral structures.
• Examine patients and determine the nature of their conditions using X-rays, dental instruments, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Clean, fill, extract, and replace teeth using rotary and hand instruments, dental appliances, medications, and surgical implements.
• Provide preventive dental services and education in oral and dental hygiene.
• Coordinate laboratory services for the dental office.
• Follow safety protocols and processes, including use of protective equipment and compliance with OSHA and bloodborne pathogen requirements.
• Participate in morning huddles, chart reviews, and routine office meetings.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities allowed under applicable state laws and regulations.
