About The Position

The ADA Forsyth Faculty Associates Dental Clinic is committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered oral healthcare while advancing innovation in dentistry and oral health. As part of ADA Forsyth Institute, we provide comprehensive dental services in a collaborative clinical environment focused on quality care, education, and community impact. We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused General Dentist to join our growing clinical team. The ideal candidate is committed to clinical excellence, evidence-based care, and building long-term relationships with patients while contributing to a collaborative and supportive practice environment. The General Dentist is responsible for providing comprehensive dental care to patients while adhering to the highest standards of clinical practice, ethics, professionalism, and patient-centered care. This position evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a wide range of oral health conditions; develops treatment plans in collaboration with patients; educates patients on preventive oral health practices; and maintains accurate and complete dental records. The General Dentist works collaboratively with clinical and support staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality dental services and positive patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited U.S. dental school, or an equivalent degree from a recognized international dental school.
  • Current, unrestricted Massachusetts dental license in good standing.
  • Current DEA registration and controlled substance certification as required by Massachusetts regulations.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Professional liability insurance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of dental diagnostic, preventive, restorative, and surgical procedures.
  • Ability to interpret radiographs and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a community-based, academic, or multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
  • Experience with integrated medical-dental care models.
  • Bilingual language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive dental examinations, assessments, and treatment for patients of all ages.
  • Examine the oral cavity, head, and neck to identify oral health conditions and abnormalities.
  • Review and interpret radiographs and other diagnostic information.
  • Evaluate patients' dental needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Discuss treatment options, risks, benefits, and alternatives with patients to support informed decision-making.
  • Administer local anesthetics and other appropriate medications as needed.
  • Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and conditions affecting the teeth, gums, and oral tissues.
  • Perform preventive, restorative, and surgical dental procedures, including: Preventive care and oral health maintenance, Removal of dental decay and restoration of teeth, Placement and repair of fillings, crowns, bridges, and other restorations, Replacement of missing teeth using removable and fixed prosthetics, including implant-supported restorations when appropriate, Tooth extractions and minor oral surgical procedures, Treatment of oral soft tissue conditions and supporting bone structures.
  • Support whole-person care by reviewing medical histories, medications, allergies, blood pressure, and other relevant health indicators.
  • Conduct clinic-approved screenings, including HbA1c or saliva-based testing, when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with medical providers and care teams to support integrated patient care.
  • Educate patients regarding oral hygiene, disease prevention, and ongoing oral healthcare needs.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely patient medical and dental records.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable clinical, regulatory, infection control, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with specialists and refer patients for advanced care when appropriate.
  • Work closely with clinical and administrative team members to support efficient patient care delivery.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices and advances in dentistry.
