About The Position

TeamstersCare is seeking a dependable, people-oriented General Dentist to join its established, busy, and growing dental practice in Charlestown, Massachusetts. The dentist will provide patient-focused care to union members and their beneficiaries. The position is a full-time, 40-hour workweek that includes some evening hours and alternating Saturdays. The anticipated annual salary is $145,000–$150,000, with the final salary determined by experience, education, and other factors.

The role includes clinical dental care, patient education, coordination with healthcare providers and specialists, accurate documentation, and supervision and development of dental staff. The dentist must hold a current Massachusetts Dental License and the other listed credentials, and maintain licensure through continuing education.

Requirements

• Current Massachusetts Dental License.
• DEA License.
• Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration.
• CPR/AED Certification.
• Maintain licensure by completing at least 40 hours of continuing education per two-year renewal cycle.

Responsibilities

• Review medical histories, maintain patient records, and coordinate with healthcare providers as needed.
• Perform oral examinations, evaluate X-rays, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans.
• Educate patients about treatment options, risks, benefits, costs, and insurance coverage.
• Provide or coordinate dental treatment, including referrals to specialists when necessary.
• Accurately document procedures and authorize laboratory prescriptions as required.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate dental staff to ensure quality care and compliance with practice standards.
• Maintain compliance with clinical, infection control, emergency preparedness, and recordkeeping protocols.
• Lead staff meetings, support quality improvement initiatives, and stay current on dental industry developments.
