About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is hiring a General Cleaner to perform cleaning activities at the Home Depot facility in Fergus Falls. The role keeps assigned areas clean, sanitary, and orderly and includes other tasks related to the assignment. The listed schedule is 5 a.m. to 10 a.m., with work available 3, 4, or 7 days per week. Duties include high dusting; sanitizing and spot cleaning; bathroom cleaning and restocking dispensers; emptying trash; dust mopping or vacuuming; floor sanitizing; and cleaning grounds, public common areas, and the food court. The cleaner checks completed rooms and corrects issues as needed, provides courteous service to customers, reports broken or out-of-order items to a supervisor, and follows assigned work procedures. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor or Account Manager, including floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing. Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial work, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices.
Knowledge of the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals, including following MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
Ability to maintain the physical condition needed to perform assigned duties, including extended walking, standing, or sitting; operating equipment; lifting and carrying 1–30 pounds; pushing and pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, and fingering.
Ability to perform visual cleaning and safety checks, with depth perception and hand-eye coordination for equipment and tool use.
Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance while on the job.

Responsibilities

Perform cleaning activities to keep assigned buildings and facilities clean, sanitary, and orderly.
High dust surfaces above shoulder height, including lights, vents, and ledges.
Sanitize surfaces below shoulder height and spot-clean fingerprints, smudges, and windows.
Clean bathrooms, toilets, sinks, and dispensers; check and refill soap and paper dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, wipe them when necessary, and replace liners.
Dust mop or vacuum rooms, including beneath furniture, and clean mopheads and dispose of collected dust.
Clean and check outside areas, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, curb lines, benches, vending machines, window ledges, public glass, and parking lots; remove gum and spot-clean spills.
Dust mop and spot mop public hallways; clean glass and planters; check for cobwebs and debris and high-dust window areas at least twice per week.
Clean and sanitize food-court tables, spot-clean spills, empty trash, return chairs to tables, wash and stack trays, and police outside eating areas.
Sanitize floors, working from the back of the room toward the exit and cleaning under furniture and behind doors.
Inspect completed rooms, review cleaning steps, check furniture placement, and make corrections as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture; perform wall spotting and high dusting daily.
Knock before entering an occupied room, assist or direct customers courteously, work quietly, remain in the assigned work area unless directed otherwise, and maintain a neat personal appearance.
Report broken or out-of-order items and incomplete assignments to a supervisor.
Perform other assigned duties, which may include floor care and carpet cleaning.
Follow safe work practices and instructions for the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
