About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is hiring a General Cleaner to perform cleaning activities at the Home Depot facility in Tewksbury, maintaining assigned areas in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition. The role includes routine cleaning of rooms, restrooms, floors, public common areas, the food court, and outdoor grounds, as well as other related duties assigned by a supervisor or Account Manager. The stated schedule is 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., 35 hours per week, Monday through Sunday.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices.
Knowledge of the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals in accordance with MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including chemical instructions and warning labels.
Ability to communicate sufficiently with co-workers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to maintain the physical condition needed for assigned duties, including extended walking, standing, or sitting; lifting and carrying 1–30 pounds; pushing and pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching overhead throughout the shift.
Ability to use sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination when cleaning and operating equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

High dust surfaces above shoulder height, including lights, vents, curtain tips, and ledges.
Sanitize and spot-clean surfaces below shoulder height; remove fingerprints and smudges from doorknobs and walls, and spot-clean windows.
Clean restrooms, including sinks and toilets, and check and refill soap and paper dispensers daily as needed.
Empty trash cans, wipe them if they contain liquid, and replace liners.
Dust mop or vacuum floors, including under furniture, and clean dust mopheads as needed.
Clean and inspect outdoor areas, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, curb lines, parking lots, benches, vending machines, window ledges, and public-area glass; remove gum and spot-clean spills.
Dust mop and spot mop main hallways, clean glass several times during the day, maintain planters, and check for cobwebs and debris in window areas.
Clean and sanitize food-court tables, return chairs to their places, spot-clean spills, empty trash cans, process dirty trays using the tray power washer, and police outdoor eating areas.
Sanitize floors using the proper germicidal solution, working from the back of the room and mopping under furniture and behind doors.
Inspect completed rooms, check furniture placement, and make corrections as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture; perform wall spotting and high dusting daily.
Provide courteous customer service, report broken or out-of-order items to a supervisor, work quietly, remain in the assigned area unless directed otherwise, and report unfinished assignments at the end of the shift.
Perform other assigned duties, which may include floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing.
