About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is hiring a General Cleaner to perform cleaning and related duties at an assigned facility. The role maintains clean, sanitary, and orderly conditions by completing tasks such as high dusting, sanitizing and spot cleaning, bathroom cleaning, trash removal, floor dusting, vacuuming and sanitizing, and care of grounds and public common areas. Duties also include cleaning food-court tables and trays, inspecting completed work, and providing courteous service to customers. Other assigned duties may include floor care such as stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing. The stated schedule is Monday, 5:00 a.m.–10:30 a.m., and Tuesday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. The position requires knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, equipment, and safe work practices, along with the ability to follow instructions, communicate with coworkers and supervisors, operate janitorial equipment, and interpret chemical labels. Physical duties include extended walking, standing or sitting; lifting and carrying 1–30 pounds; pushing and pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching overhead.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial work, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices.
Knowledge of using toxic and non-toxic chemicals according to MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
Ability to maintain the physical condition needed for the assigned duties, including extended walking, standing or sitting; lifting and carrying 1–30 pounds; pushing and pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and overhead reaching.
Sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination sufficient to perform cleaning tasks safely and operate equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

High-dust surfaces above shoulder height, including lights, vents, and ledges.
Sanitize surfaces below shoulder height and spot-clean fingerprints, smudges, and windows.
Clean bathrooms, including sinks and toilets; check and refill soap and paper dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, clean them when necessary, and replace liners.
Dust mop or vacuum floors, including under furniture, and sanitize floors.
Clean and check exterior areas, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, curb lines, parking lots, benches, vending machines, and public-area glass; remove spills and gum as needed.
Dust mop and spot mop public hallways; clean glass and planters, and check for cobwebs and debris.
Clean and sanitize food-court tables, return chairs to their places, remove trash, clean trays using a tray power washer, and police outside eating areas.
Inspect completed rooms, check furniture placement, and make corrections as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture; perform wall spotting and high dusting daily.
Knock before entering occupied rooms; treat customers courteously, answer or refer questions, work quietly, and remain in the assigned work area unless directed otherwise.
Report broken or out-of-order items and incomplete assignments to a supervisor; maintain a neat personal appearance.
Perform other duties as assigned, including possible floor care such as stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor auto-scrubbing and buffing.
