About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is hiring a General Cleaner to perform cleaning activities at Macy's Tuttle Crossing, keeping assigned facilities clean, sanitary, and orderly. The role involves cleaning rooms and restrooms, maintaining floors, common areas, food court spaces, and outdoor grounds, and completing other duties as assigned by a supervisor or Account Manager. The cleaner is expected to follow safe work practices, use cleaning chemicals and equipment correctly, inspect completed work, and provide courteous service to customers.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices and the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals in accordance with MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.
Ability to maintain the physical condition needed to perform assigned duties, including extended walking, standing, or sitting; lifting and carrying 1–30 pounds; pushing and pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, and fingering throughout the shift.
Adequate sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination to perform cleaning tasks and operate equipment safely.

Responsibilities

High-dust surfaces above shoulder height, including lights, vents, curtain tips, and ledges.
Sanitize and spot-clean surfaces, remove fingerprints and smudges, and spot-clean windows.
Clean bathrooms and toilets with germicidal solution; check and refill soap and paper dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, wipe them when necessary, and replace liners.
Dust mop or vacuum floors, including beneath furniture, and dispose of collected dust.
Clean and check outdoor areas, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, curb lines, parking lots, benches, vending machines, and public-area glass; remove spills and gum.
Dust mop and spot mop public hallways; clean glass and planters, and regularly check window areas for cobwebs and debris.
Clean and sanitize food-court tables, handle spills and trash, return chairs to tables, transport dirty trays to the wash room, clean trays using a tray power washer, and stack clean trays for reuse.
Sanitize floors, working from the back of the room and mopping beneath furniture and behind doors.
Inspect completed rooms and correct issues with cleaning or furniture placement.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture, and perform wall spotting and high dusting daily.
Knock before entering an occupied room; interact courteously and helpfully with customers or refer questions appropriately.
Report broken or out-of-order items and incomplete assignments to a supervisor; remain in the assigned work area unless directed otherwise.
Work quietly, maintain a neat personal appearance, and perform other assigned duties, potentially including floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and auto scrubbing and buffing.
