About The Position

Blue Chip Pros is hiring a General Cleaner to perform cleaning activities at an assigned Home Depot facility in Nashville. The role is responsible for keeping the facility clean, sanitary, and orderly, while completing other duties related to the assignment. Work includes cleaning rooms, bathrooms, floors, grounds, public common areas, and food-court spaces; replenishing dispensers; removing trash; and inspecting work after cleaning. The position also requires courteous customer interaction, quiet and professional conduct, staying within the assigned work area unless directed otherwise, and reporting maintenance issues or incomplete assignments to a supervisor. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor or Account Manager, including floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor scrubbing and buffing.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic janitorial operations, methods, materials, and equipment.
Knowledge of basic safe work practices.
Knowledge of the use of toxic and non-toxic chemicals, including reading MSDS sheets.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including cleaning-chemical warning labels.
Ability to communicate sufficiently with coworkers and supervisors.
Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
Ability to maintain the physical condition needed for assigned duties, including extended walking, standing, or sitting; operating equipment; lifting and carrying 1–30 pounds; pushing and pulling with 5–35 pounds of force; climbing stairs and ladders; bending, twisting, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching overhead, and handling and grasping tools and equipment.
Sight, depth perception, and hand-eye coordination sufficient to perform cleaning tasks and operate equipment safely.

Responsibilities

Perform high dusting of surfaces above shoulder height, including lights, vents, ledges, and window areas.
Sanitize and spot-clean surfaces below shoulder height, and remove fingerprints, smudges, and window spots using appropriate cleaning solutions.
Clean bathrooms, including sinks and toilets, and check and refill soap and paper dispensers as needed.
Empty trash cans, wipe them when needed, and replace liners.
Dust mop or vacuum floors, including beneath furniture, and clean and sanitize floors as assigned.
Clean and inspect outside areas, including ash urns, trash cans, sidewalks, flower beds, curb lines, parking lots, benches, vending machines, and public-area glass; remove trash, cigarette butts, gum, and spills.
Maintain public common areas by dust mopping and spot mopping hallways, cleaning glass and planters, and checking for cobwebs and debris.
Clean food-court areas by removing trash, sanitizing tables, replacing chairs, spot-cleaning spills, washing trays with the tray power washer, and checking outside eating areas.
Inspect completed rooms, verify furniture placement, and make corrections as needed.
Clean halls, lobbies, stairs, water fountains, and furniture; perform wall spotting and high dusting daily.
Interact courteously with customers, answer or refer questions, knock before entering occupied rooms, and work quietly.
Report broken or out-of-order items and unfinished work to a supervisor.
Perform other assigned duties, which may include floor stripping and waxing, carpet extraction and bonneting, and floor scrubbing and buffing.
