About The Position

OSF Multi-Specialty Group seeks a General Cardiologist to practice full-time in Galesburg and Monmouth, Illinois. This role involves providing high-quality Cardiology care to OSF patients, both in-hospital and in rural, federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas. The position requires on-call availability, maintaining comprehensive patient medical records, and fostering positive working relationships within a collaborative team environment. The cardiologist will also assist in the direction and supervision of daily operations, including supervising advanced practice providers and nurses, and advising the Ministry CEO on personnel matters (recruitment, selection, retention, scheduling, termination) for both non-physician and physician staff. Additionally, the role involves advising on the selection, maintenance, and utilization of equipment as outlined in the Physician Employment Agreement.

Requirements

  • M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent degree.
  • Completed residency in Internal Medicine.
  • Completed Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease.
  • Illinois License to practice medicine.
  • Board eligibility in Internal Medicine.
  • Federal Drug Enforcement Agency License.
  • State of Illinois License for prescribing of controlled substances.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality Cardiology care to OSF patients.
  • Provide high-quality in-hospital care to patients of the Practice and the OSF Hospital.
  • Provide on-call availability to patients of the Practice and the OSF Hospital on weekdays and/or weekends as agreed upon.
  • Maintain full and current patient medical records, including reports of all examinations, procedures, and other services performed.
  • Demonstrate positive working relationships and collaborative team-oriented behaviors with other departments and medical staff.
  • Assist in the direction and supervision of the daily operation, which may include supervising advanced practice providers, physician assistants, and nurses.
  • Advise the Ministry CEO concerning the recruitment, selection, retention, scheduling, and termination of non-physician personnel providing professional, technical, and clerical services to the Practice.
  • Advise the Ministry CEO with respect to the selection, retention and termination of all physician-personnel and assist in the recruitment of physicians.
  • Advise Ministry CEO in the selection, maintenance, and utilization of equipment in the Physician Employment Agreement.
