This role involves a variety of accounting tasks including checking figures, postings, and documents for accuracy. The accountant will record, store, access, and analyze computerized financial information. They will classify, code, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records using journals, ledgers, and computers. Responsibilities include preparing, maintaining, auditing, and distributing statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tables, as well as completing period-end closing procedures and reports. The position also requires preparing, reviewing, reconciling, and issuing bills, invoices, and account statements, and following up on past due accounts and vendor invoices. Additionally, the role involves preparing daily consolidated deposits, documenting and acting upon cash variances, and administering cashier banks and contracts. The accountant will serve as a departmental role model, leading daily activities and performance of Accounting staff, and organizing, securing, and maintaining all files and records according to document retention policies. This role also assists management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees, and serves as a role model.
