About The Position

This role involves a variety of accounting tasks including checking figures, postings, and documents for accuracy. The accountant will record, store, access, and analyze computerized financial information. They will classify, code, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records using journals, ledgers, and computers. Responsibilities include preparing, maintaining, auditing, and distributing statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tables, as well as completing period-end closing procedures and reports. The position also requires preparing, reviewing, reconciling, and issuing bills, invoices, and account statements, and following up on past due accounts and vendor invoices. Additionally, the role involves preparing daily consolidated deposits, documenting and acting upon cash variances, and administering cashier banks and contracts. The accountant will serve as a departmental role model, leading daily activities and performance of Accounting staff, and organizing, securing, and maintaining all files and records according to document retention policies. This role also assists management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees, and serves as a role model. Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy.

  • Prepare, review, reconcile, and issue bills, invoices, and account statements according to company procedures.
  • Follow-up and resolve past due accounts and vendor invoices until payment in full is received or resolved.
  • Prepare daily consolidated deposits of cash received by all cash handling employees.
  • Document, maintain, communicate, and act upon all Cash Variances.
  • Prepare, maintain, and administer all cashier banks and contracts.
  • Serve as a departmental role model or mentor by working alongside employees to perform technical or functional job duties.
  • Lead daily activities and performance of Accounting staff.
  • Organize, secure, and maintain all files and records in accordance with document retention policy and procedures.
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; and serve as a role model.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
