About The Position

The CDJEC GED Teacher provides instructional services to youth who have been determined eligible to prepare for and successfully complete the GED examination.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in GED programs for young adults.
• Knowledge of effective instructional practices, curriculum development, and student assessment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies.
• Develop and implement lesson plans, instructional materials, and learning activities that address diverse learning styles and ability levels.
• Assess student performance, track academic progress, and maintain educational records.
• Collaborate with educational staff, secure detention staff, administrators, parents, and other stakeholders.
