The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a Teacher 1 for the Adult Basic Education/GED program. Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree
• Adult Educator four-year permit and/or eligibility to receive a four-year permit from the Ohio Department of Education
• Current Teacher Certificate appropriate grade level to be assigned
• Job Skills: Education, Developing Others, Emotional Intelligence, Cultural Awareness, Customer Focus

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans to address needs, including individualized training for assignments.
• Provides necessary instruction for the Adult Basic Education/General Education Development program.
• Administers necessary tests.
• Evaluates inmates and provides necessary direction.
• Maintains discipline and/or security of the instructional area.
• Attends education meetings, unit staff meetings, and in-service training.
• Prepares required records and reports.
• Maintains inventory and orders supplies and materials needed.
• Performs other education and/or related duties as requested by education administrators.
• Performs other duties as required on assignment.
