About The Position

At Fleet Farm, Gate Guards provide friendly, positive, and timely service to customers entering and leaving the Yard. They help maintain smooth traffic flow and secure the gate entrance while protecting people and property. The role includes checking receipts and loading slips, directing customers to merchandise for loading, verifying loads, communicating with warehouse and customer service teams, and advising customers about potential load safety concerns. Gate Guards may also assist with assembly projects and promote Fleet Farm customer loyalty, credit card, and other company initiatives.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Previous retail experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of computer systems and ability to learn and operate an RF unit, tablet, or other technology.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Provide smooth traffic flow in and out of the gate area through efficient and accurate customer service.
Provide high-quality security services to protect people and property.
Verify customer purchases by reviewing receipts and outside loading slips.
Direct customers to merchandise locations for proper loading.
Follow standard policies and procedures to help reduce company shrink.
Communicate incoming customers to Warehouse team members to support timely customer interactions.
Verify customer loading accuracy using an RF unit and outside loading application, as well as a physical count.
Communicate with the Customer Service Department and retain outside loading slips for customer loads that were not completely loaded.
Inform customers of potential safety concerns regarding their loads.
Assist with assembly projects as needed.
Promote Fleet Farm’s customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives.
