About The Position

At Fleet Farm, providing the best customer service is the priority. Gate Guards provide positive and timely service to customers entering and leaving the Yard and are responsible for the security of the gate entrance. The role supports smooth traffic flow, verifies customer purchases and loads, helps protect people and property, and communicates with warehouse and customer service teams. Gate Guards may also assist with assembly projects and promote company initiatives.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Previous retail experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of computer systems and ability to learn and operate an RF unit, tablet, or other technology.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Provide smooth traffic flow in and out of the gate area through efficient and accurate customer service.
Provide high-quality security services to protect people and property.
Verify customer purchases by reviewing receipts and outside loading slips.
Direct customers to merchandise locations for proper loading.
Follow standard policies and procedures to help reduce company shrink.
Communicate incoming customers to Warehouse team members to support timely customer interactions.
Verify customer loading accuracy using an RF unit and the outside loading application, as well as a physical count.
Communicate efficiently with the Customer Service Department and retain outside loading slips for customer loads that were not completely loaded.
Inform customers of potential safety concerns regarding their loads.
Assist with assembly projects as needed.
Promote Fleet Farm’s customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives.
