About The Position

This contract, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide high-quality gastrointestinal care in a collaborative clinical environment. As a Locum Gastroenterology MD, you will deliver comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients with digestive disorders, working alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals. Your expertise will directly contribute to improved patient outcomes and the continued success of the medical practice.

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
• Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology
• Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction
• Associate-level experience in clinical gastroenterology
• Proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to patient-centered care and safety
• Experience with electronic medical records systems
• ACLS, CSR & DEA certifications

Nice To Haves

• Subspecialty training or experience in hepatology or IBD
• Prior locum tenens or contract-based clinical experience

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients with gastrointestinal and liver conditions
• Perform endoscopic procedures including upper endoscopy and colonoscopy
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and lab results
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans for patients
• Collaborate with primary care physicians and specialists on patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
• Provide patient education on digestive health and disease prevention
• Participate in clinical consultations and interdisciplinary meetings
• Ensure compliance with medical protocols, ethics, and regulatory standards
• Manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions effectively
• Coordinate referrals for advanced or surgical interventions when needed
• Stay current with advancements in gastroenterology practice and research
