About The Position

Seeking a Gastroenterologist for a Locum Tenens position in Lakewood, CO. This is an inpatient role covering a supplemental need on an ongoing basis. The coverage is call-only, with specific dates available throughout the year and into 2027. The call schedule is 7a-7a, 5-7 days per month, with an average callback percentage of 11.5 hours on weekdays and 10 hours on weekends. The patient demographic ranges from adolescent to geriatrics, with specific pediatric trauma considerations (15 yrs old & 50 kgs). The patient volume is 8-10 new and follow-up patients per day, with 5-8 scopes performed daily. Procedures include Scopes, ERCP, EUS, Endoscopy, GI Bleed management, and evaluation of GI problems. The facility is a Level I Trauma center with 24/7 on-site Trauma Service, Intensivists, and Hospitalists. The GI service functions as a consult service and does not admit patients. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.

Requirements

• Active CO License or IMLC
• Board Certified (BC)
• DEA required
• Completion of Fellowship
• Clean Record (NPDB)
• Experience with Epic EMR

• Local or drive-in candidates are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide consults for GI-related issues.
• Perform procedures including Scopes, ERCP, EUS, and Endoscopy.
• Manage GI Bleeds.
• Evaluate and treat GI problems.
• Respond to call duties as scheduled (5-7 days/month).
