About The Position

We are seeking a Gastroenterologist for a Locum Tenens position at an Ambulatory Surgery Center and Hospital in Ephrata, PA. This role involves scheduled clinical coverage, procedures, rounding, and call. The coverage period is from June 1, 2026, ongoing. The schedule includes Endoscopy Center shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with additional responsibilities for inpatient rounding, ED support, outpatient/inpatient procedures, and call coverage. The position requires the physician to be comfortable working independently in a hospital setting and managing adult patients (18+). The case mix includes general gastroenterology patients requiring outpatient procedures, inpatient consults, rounding, and GI procedures. The facility is a 130-bed Acute Care Hospital with an Ambulatory Surgery Center, utilizing the Epic EMR system. There is no APP support in the hospital. The department handles outpatient procedures, inpatient rounding, consults, ED support, and inpatient procedures.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
• Active Pennsylvania License or IMLC LOQ required for submission
• DEA required
• Licensed Gastroenterologist
• Must be comfortable working independently in the hospital setting
• General Gastroenterology experience

Responsibilities

• Perform outpatient endoscopy procedures in the ambulatory surgery center
• Provide inpatient rounding, GI consults, and emergency department support
• Perform inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology procedures
• Manage and coordinate patient care independently within the hospital setting
• Complete accurate documentation within Epic EMR
• Collaborate with hospital staff to ensure continuity and quality patient care
