About The Position

A locum tenens Gastroenterologist position providing inpatient and outpatient clinical coverage in Duluth, Minnesota. Coverage is supplemental and is listed as beginning January 4, 2027, with coverage needed January 4–25 and the assignment described as ongoing. The schedule is Monday through Friday in 8-hour shifts, with weekend backup/second-call coverage; the call schedule is to be determined. Call response time is 20 minutes.

The physician will provide GI consultations and procedures, round on assigned patients, and perform advanced GI procedures. The facility uses Epic and has RN support in the OR and two PA/NPs. Temporary privileges are available.

Requirements

• Board certified or board eligible.
• Must have a Minnesota license or be willing to obtain one.
• Fellowship required.
• Required procedures include upper and lower GI endoscopy, ERCP, EUS, small bowel biopsy, sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced GI procedures, including EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, and flexible sigmoidoscopy.
• Provide hospital service coverage for inpatient and outpatient GI consultations and procedures.
• Participate in weekend backup/second call as needed; schedule to be confirmed.
• Conduct patient rounds on assigned patients.
• Collaborate with support staff, including RNs and PA/NPs in the OR setting.
