About The Position

Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, is seeking a Gastroenterologist to support an established inpatient team on a PRN basis. This employed position is within a stable, nonprofit health system and offers access to advanced endoscopy equipment and the resources of a large network. The practice team includes two physicians and one advanced practice provider. The role is mostly call from home unless there is an emergency. Shifts are ideally scheduled by the week, from Friday at 5 p.m. through the following Friday at 5 p.m., with flexibility available. The physician will provide comprehensive inpatient gastrointestinal consultations and manage complex conditions and acute care pathways. The role includes specialized endoscopic procedures using ERCP and EUS capabilities. Ascension Saint Agnes is a 251-bed teaching hospital serving a population of approximately 738,000, with an integrated referral network. It is part of Ascension, a national nonprofit Catholic health system. The job location is designated as a Health Professional Shortage Area for Primary Care and/or a Medically Underserved Area/Population.

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
Fellowship training in Gastroenterology.
Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration.
Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Maryland Board of Physicians before the hire or job transfer date.
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.

Nice To Haves

Advanced Life Support certification; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification accepted.
