About The Position
We are seeking a Gastroenterologist for a Locum Tenens position at a hospital in Potsdam, NY. This role involves clinical duties from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, and 24-hour on-call coverage from Monday to Sunday. The position requires managing adult patients with a daily census of 15-20, focusing on general gastroenterology cases. The coverage period is from December 7, 2026, to June 7, 2027. The facility utilizes the Epic EMR system.
Requirements
- Active NY State License
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI) certifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the last 2 years
- Epic experience required
- No residents or fellows
Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour call coverage including office and procedure duties
- Perform upper and lower endoscopies (EGD, colonoscopy)
- Perform PEG tube placement and esophageal dilation
- Manage inpatient and outpatient GI consultations
- Complete documentation and administrative tasks
