About The Position
A respected integrated healthcare system in Poplar Bluff, Missouri is seeking a Board Certified Gastroenterologist to join a growing Specialty Care program focused on expanding GI access and continuity of care. This opportunity offers an outpatient-focused schedule, dedicated procedure time, strong support staff, and excellent work-life balance with no unassigned call, weekends, or holiday responsibilities.
Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license
- DEA

- General GI and routine endoscopy experience
- Interest in developing and growing a specialty service
- Experience serving rural or underserved communities
Responsibilities
- Perform GI consultations, evaluations, follow-up visits, and longitudinal care
- Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal diseases, including: Chronic liver disease, Hepatitis C, General GI disorders
- Perform standard GI procedures including: EGD, Colonoscopy, PEG placement, Paracentesis
- Provide conscious sedation during procedures
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Support inpatient consultative GI services as needed
- Participate in quality improvement and process initiatives
