About The Position

Otter Co-op is hiring for a Part-Time Gas Bar Associate for their 248th Street Gas Bar located in Langley, BC. Otter Co-op is a diverse and growing organization, serving the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley and BC Interior since 1922. With over 103 years in business and over 600 in their team, they are proud to be a locally owned and community minded member of the neighbourhoods they live, work and play in. They operate three food and pharmacy stores (including one with a fashion and hardware department), thirty Angry Otter liquor stores, one feed mill, two bulk petroleum facilities, the Highwayman Pub in Abbotsford, and multiple gas station/convenience stores. The team provides a range of products and services to support member-owners, helping to build, fuel, feed and grow Western Canadian communities together.

Requirements

  • Must have strong math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Motivation and ability to work in a busy work environment is required
  • Must be committed to a SAFE working environment
  • Must have reliable transportation as bus is not always reliable for all shifts
  • Able to perform physical job duties including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Open availability to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings starting at 5:45am, closing shifts till 10:15am, weekdays and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a convenience store or gas station is an asset
  • Previous customer service experience in a retail setting is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Provide pump island and sales area product and exemplary service to customers in a courteous efficient manner and within approved programs, policies and procedure
  • Perform general housekeeping and maintenance duties
  • Complete daily summaries and other paperwork as required
  • Operate the cash register and other equipment as required
  • Prepare the daily pump and cash reconciliation reports
  • Contribute to the Team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence
  • Perform other duties as assigned
