About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks in the maintenance and care of the District’s grounds and landscaping. This includes planting, cultivating, and caring for trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns; operating and maintaining groundskeeping equipment; and performing related duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Two years of experience in groundskeeping or landscaping.
Valid Nevada Driver’s License.
Ability to operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment.
Knowledge of plants, soils, and fertilizers.
Ability to perform heavy physical labor.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Certification in horticulture or a related field.
Experience with irrigation systems.
Experience with pest and disease control.

Responsibilities

Operates and maintains groundskeeping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and edgers.
Plants, cultivates, and cares for trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns.
Waters lawns, trees, and shrubs.
Applies fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides as needed.
Prunes trees and shrubs.
Removes weeds and debris from grounds.
Assists with irrigation system maintenance and repair.
Performs minor repairs to groundskeeping equipment.
Follows safety procedures and guidelines.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
