About The Position

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Garde Manger to support the Chef in kitchen operations. The role prepares and presents high-quality cold dishes, including salads, appetizers, charcuterie, sandwiches, cold sauces, and assigned desserts. Food must be prepared according to recipes, presentation standards, and food safety regulations, while maintaining a clean and organized workstation. The Garde Manger also helps lead, support, and inspire associates and contributes to a collaborative, efficient kitchen environment and an exceptional guest experience.

Requirements

Knowledge of food preparation techniques and knife skills.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and presentation.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

1+ years’ experience in a high-volume production kitchen is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead a team in bulk production of cold foods and present attractive plates and platters when required.
Follow recipes, production schedules, and plating standards.
Monitor food temperatures and store food at safe temperatures.
Ensure food items are properly labeled and stored.
Assist with inventory and ordering, and minimize food waste.
Assist the Main Kitchen with additional production as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
Support, guide, and inspire associates while contributing to a collaborative kitchen environment.
