About The Position

The Garage Mechanic works at Pilgrim’s Broadway Garage and diagnoses and repairs all phases of vehicle maintenance. The role includes road testing, inspections, and making road service calls outside the Broadway location as needed. The mechanic must provide the tools necessary to perform the job and successfully complete a 90-day probationary training period.

The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with some Saturdays and weekends required. Overtime may be needed. The mechanic is expected to perform major repairs involving electrical systems, hydraulics, drivetrains, refrigeration, and air conditioning; troubleshoot effectively; work with minimal supervision; and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Requirements

• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Have or be able to obtain a state inspection license.
• Have five to seven years of experience.
• Have strong reading and oral comprehension skills and be a team player.
• Have excellent attendance and a strong safety and work record.
• Possess strong troubleshooting skills and be capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Own the necessary tools to perform the job duties.
• Successfully complete a 90-day probationary training period.
• Be able to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in air conditioning, refrigeration, and brake work.
