We are seeking a motivated and dependable Garage Door Installation Technician to install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial garage door systems. This position offers the opportunity to work in a variety of environments, solve technical challenges, and provide exceptional service to customers. Position Summary As a Garage Door Installation Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of garage doors, operators, and related components. This role requires accurate measurements, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the physical ability to work with heavy materials and equipment. You will work directly with customers and travel to various job sites while ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Experience working with garage doors, operators, mechanical systems, or related equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, mechanical systems, and basic wiring.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment.
  • Ability to perform overhead work and physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Measure openings and spaces accurately for proper door fitment.
  • Assemble and install garage door sections, tracks, rollers, springs, hardware, and operators.
  • Install and program electronic openers, keypads, remote controls, and smart-home integrations.
  • Ensure all installations comply with manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and commercial garage door systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair springs, cables, operators, sensors, and other door components.
  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Communicate professionally with customers throughout the installation or repair process.
  • Explain system operation, maintenance recommendations, and answer customer questions.
  • Travel daily to residential and commercial job sites.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and industry best practices.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
  • Inspect and test completed installations and repairs to ensure smooth and reliable operation.
  • Make adjustments as needed to meet or exceed manufacturer and company standards.
