About The Position

TapBlaze is a 15-person independent game studio in Los Angeles that develops mobile titles such as Good Pizza, Great Pizza, Good Coffee, Great Coffee, and Homematch, with over 300 million downloads combined. The company is self-funded, profitable, and adheres to real schedules for live content delivery. This role requires a five-day-a-week presence in the Los Angeles office. The Game Producer will be responsible for ensuring studio-wide clarity on ongoing work, deadlines, and upcoming tasks. This role involves establishing and maintaining this clarity across all projects. It is a hands-on production position where the producer will manage Jira, communicate with all studio members weekly, and serve as the primary point of contact for questions regarding tasks, priorities, and blockers. In larger studios, this role might be one part of a production organization, but at TapBlaze, the producer *is* the production organization.

Requirements

  • 3 to 6 years of production experience in games, specifically free-to-play mobile titles with live operations.
  • Proven experience shipping content updates on a recurring cadence and understanding of event calendars.
  • Deep working knowledge of Jira as an administrator, including building workflows and managing tickets.
  • Ability to hold people accountable to dates without alienating them, securing commitments, tracking them, and following up.
  • Clear and fast written communication skills.
  • Must be able to reliably commute or relocate to Los Angeles, CA before starting work.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience coordinating across time zones, as part of the production team is located in Beijing.

Responsibilities

  • Owning Jira and all associated planning tools for every active game project, including board structure, workflow, hygiene, and reporting.
  • Managing schedules and deadlines, ensuring every task has an owner and a due date, including inter-team and cross-office requests.
  • Identifying and flagging schedule risks early, driving tradeoff conversations, and making decisions on pushing milestones or cutting scope.
  • Running efficient and valuable stand-ups and status meetings.
  • Serving as the single point of contact for studio members regarding task priorities and work assignments.
