About The Position

This position involves conducting initial screening of manuscripts, providing support for administrative and organizational tasks within the Sage ScholarOne editorial online system, preparing agendas, meeting regularly with the editorial team, managing communication with reviewers and authors, and supporting the editorial team in preparing social media posts and conference sessions. The Lead Editorial Assistant will need to have strong cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills. The role requires twenty hours per week for tasks related to being a lead editorial assistant, involving work with faculty members on the journal for which they serve as lead editors.

Requirements

  • Eligible for appointment as per the requirements in the Graduate Assistant Handbook.
  • Must be a degree seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in Teaching and Learning.
  • Experience in scholarly writing.
  • Experience with APA 7th edition and/or MLA.
  • Eligible for employment in the United States and at Illinois State University.
  • Must be eligible for employment in the United States and at Illinois State University and/or for the number of hours required for the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in scholarly writing in literacy and/or related field.
  • Effective online communication.
