About The Position

This is an off-campus Federal Work Study (FWS) position for a currently enrolled student. The role involves providing administrative support and assisting with the recruitment and admissions process for the Per Scholas Atlanta, GA training site. The intern will promote Per Scholas' mission to prospective students through community outreach, digital engagement, and partnership development. This position offers an opportunity to gain experience in recruitment, admissions, data management, and digital marketing within a national non-profit organization focused on technology training and career development.

Requirements

  • Student working towards relevant degree program in business or IT.
  • Knowledge and entry level experience in (Google Sheets/Excel, Slides/PowerPoint, Salesforce, etc.), project management, and organizational skills with detailed follow-through abilities.
  • Excellent written communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to learn business needs and how to source talent to meet the needs of the business.
  • Develop evaluation and data management skills.
  • Must be an enrolled student.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a current student in good standing and possess a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits per semester.
  • FWS fund eligible.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed, motivated individuals.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with social media marketing a plus, or a desire to learn.
  • Prior knowledge or background in IT (if minimal, a desire and willingness to learn what’s needed) and a passion for technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with outreach and admissions process throughout its entire lifecycle, ensuring targets and benchmarks for recruitment and admissions are achieved each cycle.
  • Communicate with candidates while quickly building rapport and trust.
  • Assist to implement retention activities (Meetups, networking opportunities, etc.) for specific alumni populations including women and young adults.
  • Learn to design and produce reports to track, document, and measure progress and outcomes.
  • Gain experience to organize and be prepared to report on recruitment and enrollment data.
  • Develop strategic thinking skills to recognize data and trends and suggest improvements in a start-up environment.
  • Work with local Digital Marketing Manager to run ads on digital channels and ensure that needed revisions to collateral materials are timely.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training.
  • Provide telephone coverage as needed.
  • Assist in coordinating class kickoffs.
  • Work cross-functionally with a willingness to “get things done” while promoting a collaborative work environment.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Site Director.
