FWS Micro Internships are short-term, project-based work assignments completed by a Federal Work Study student with defined deliverables and learning outcomes. These projects are 10 - 40 hours total and are not on-going, operational roles. Selected students will deliver specific outcomes, build professional skills, and support departmental needs in a short-term capacity. The Columbus Promise department is looking for student support with a media project for July - early August. This internship aims to prepare a student to share their story in a public capacity. Over the course of the internship, an intern will develop skills in communication and public speaking in order to share their personal story, and the impact of CState, in a clear and professional manner. The skills the student will develop will culminate in a capstone event where they will be featured in a yet to be determined piece of media. With communication being such a vital aspect of most careers, the project should help students develop skills and strengthen their resumes as they make their way toward graduation.
