About The Position

FWS Micro Internships are short-term, project-based work assignments completed by a Federal Work Study student with defined deliverables and learning outcomes. These projects are 10 - 40 hours total and are not on-going, operational roles. Selected students will deliver specific outcomes, build professional skills, and support departmental needs in a short-term capacity. The Workday Change Management and Training Teams are looking for student support in reviewing various materials and making recommendations based on the student perspective.

Requirements

  • Have an Accepted Federal Work Study award as part of their 2025-26 Financial Aid award with Columbus State.
  • Be enrolled in SIX or more credit hours in a degree or certificate program.
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
  • Have a high school diploma or a certificate of attendance from an accredited secondary school or a certificate of high school equivalence and be exempt from Ohio Revised Code Chapter 4109.
  • Have reliable transportation or other means of getting to work regularly.
  • Students enrolled as Transient, College Credit Plus, Undecided, or otherwise non-degree-seeking are not considered eligible for Student Employment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the student voice by reviewing and providing feedback on various communications/user guides for clarity, relevance, and authenticity, with a focus on the new student information system.
  • Review and provide feedback on student-facing communications (emails, web content, user guides, FAQs) to ensure clarity, accuracy, and student-centered language.
  • Serve as a representative student voice, ensuring communications reflect authentic student perspectives and needs.
  • Evaluate communications/user guides for the new student information system (SIS), identifying areas of confusion or improvement.
  • Collaborate with project teams, functional leads, and communication/training specialists to refine messaging.
  • Test and validate communication/user guide effectiveness through usability reviews and peer feedback.
  • Identify gaps in communication/user guide content and recommend enhancements or additional materials.
