Fundraiser - $20/hr - Great for Students & Creatives
About The Position
Public Outreach is hiring fundraisers to join their NYC team to represent major nonprofit organizations. This role involves face-to-face fundraising, speaking with the public about nonprofit campaigns, and inviting people to become monthly donors. The work can be done through street fundraising or door-to-door outreach. No prior fundraising experience is required, as paid training, ongoing coaching, and support are provided. This role is suitable for students, recent graduates, performers, creatives, hospitality workers, and other strong communicators seeking meaningful work and skill development.
Requirements
- Must be 18+ years old.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Comfortable working outdoors, standing, and walking for much of the shift.
- Comfortable starting conversations with members of the public throughout the day.
- Comfortable with both street and door-to-door fundraising.
- Able to communicate confidently in English.
- Comfortable receiving coaching and working toward fundraising goals.
- Willingness to learn.

- Reliability.
- Ability to reset and try again after hearing 'no'.
Nice To Haves
- Backgrounds in theatre, music, hospitality, restaurants, customer service, retail, volunteering, advocacy, sales, or other public-facing work.
- Previous nonprofit or activism experience.
- Interest in humanitarian aid, human rights, social impact, and community support issues.
