About The Position

Public Outreach is seeking outgoing, motivated individuals to join their Los Angeles fundraising team. This role involves face-to-face interaction with the public on behalf of a leading nonprofit campaign focused on improving animal welfare and protecting animals from cruelty. The work supports initiatives aimed at ending animal cruelty, aiding disaster-affected animals, improving farmed animal conditions, protecting wildlife, ending harmful animal practices, and driving change through advocacy and education. Previous fundraising or nonprofit experience is not required; the company provides training and seeks individuals with energy, curiosity, resilience, strong communication skills, and a desire to make a difference.

Requirements

  • Must be 18+
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
  • Must be able to consistently work at least 3 complete 7-hour shifts per week
  • Must be available for full shifts rather than partial-day availability
  • Comfortable working outdoors, standing, and walking for much of your shift
  • Comfortable starting conversations with members of the public throughout the day
  • Comfortable travelling with your team to changing fundraising locations throughout Los Angeles
  • Must be able to communicate confidently in English
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and working toward measurable fundraising goals
  • Genuinely care about animals and their welfare
  • Are interested in animal advocacy, protection, rescue, wildlife, or creating a more humane world
  • Are naturally social and comfortable starting conversations with strangers
  • Communicate clearly and confidently

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in animal welfare, shelters or rescues, volunteering, advocacy, environmental work, fundraising, canvassing, hospitality, customer service, retail, sales, community organizing, performance, public speaking, or other public-facing work can translate well to this role.

Responsibilities
