Fundraiser - $20/hr Guaranteed - Great for Students & Creatives
About The Position
We are growing our North Hollywood / San Fernando Valley fundraising team and hiring outgoing, thoughtful people to represent leading international human rights and humanitarian organizations. You'll work face-to-face with members of the public, explain important nonprofit campaigns, and inspire people to support that work by becoming monthly donors. This role can be a great fit for students, recent graduates, performers, creatives, hospitality workers, organizers, advocates, and other strong communicators looking for stable hourly income while doing work that has a real-world impact. No fundraising experience is required. We provide paid training and ongoing coaching.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
- Can confidently lead detailed conversations in English
- Dependable and can commit to full shifts
- Comfortable being coached and trying a different approach
- Can handle hearing "no" without losing your motivation
- Like active work more than sitting behind a desk
- Can explain complicated ideas in a way people understand
- Communicate with warmth, confidence, and personality
- Enjoy talking with new people
- Care about nonprofit, humanitarian, or human rights issues
Nice To Haves
- Experience in independent restaurants or cafes, hospitality, retail, customer service, fundraising, theatre, improv, music, public speaking, advocacy, volunteering, organizing, or sales can translate especially well to this work.
Responsibilities
- Starting conversations with people you have never met
- Learning the nonprofit campaign you are representing
- Explaining complex social and humanitarian issues in a clear, engaging way
- Listening, answering questions, and building genuine rapport
- Asking people directly to support the organization through a recurring monthly donation
- Working alongside a fundraising partner and supportive field team
- Practicing your approach and applying regular coaching
- Working toward clear fundraising goals
