About The Position

Guelph Community Health Centre is seeking a motivated and organized Fund Development Assistant to support our fundraising and donor engagement activities over the summer. This role is ideal for a self-starter with an interest in nonprofit sustainability, fundraising, and community impact. With direction supervision from Director of Community Programs and Development. The student will assist with fund development strategies including events, donor stewardship, grant support, and impact reporting, for various programs. This position offers meaningful, hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector.

Requirements

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection status (international students are not eligible)
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Self-starter with a strong interest in nonprofit sustainability and fund development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office / Google Workspace)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous coursework, volunteer experience, or work experience related to fundraising, nonprofit work, communications, or community development is an asset
  • familiarity with Keela or other CRM is an asset
  • Passion for health equity, social justice, and community wellbeing

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and updating donor information in the organization’s database Keela (CRM)
  • Assisting with planning and coordination of fundraising events and campaigns
  • Supporting donor relations and stewardship activities, including thank-you letters and donor communications
  • Supporting the Fund Development Committee meetings and activities
  • Assisting with grant writing research and preparation support
  • Helping create donor-facing materials such as impact reports and presentations
  • Supporting the preparation of fundraising reports, tracking activities, and organizing data
  • Assisting with other fundraising, communications, and administrative tasks as needed
