About The Position

Georgia Families in Transition is looking for individuals to join our community-based mental health team! The Therapist position is focused on providing individual/family mental health counseling using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches of care for children, adolescents, and adults in the clients county location. GFIT strives toward a company culture based in collaboration, teamwork, honesty, and promotion of self-care and is looking for members of our mental health team who share this vision.

Requirements

  • Must hold an active LPC, LCSW, or LMFT license in the State of Georgia (required)
  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related human services discipline
  • Candidates must also be prepared to provide the required information and documentation to complete their CAQH profiles to facilitate credentialing and billing processes.
  • Must be able to pass DBHDD background check (required prior to providing any services to clients)
  • Completion of state-mandated training within the first 30 days of hire: CPR/First Aid, CPI, CSSRS, Relias
  • Demonstrable knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria
  • Willingness to learn new documentation and clinical skills
  • Receptivity to feedback and constructive criticism
  • Prompt communication, collaborative personality, and passion for mental health and human services

Nice To Haves

  • Possessing a CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) credential is considered a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid/CMO compliance requirements preferred
  • Bilingual skills advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Providing individual/family mental health counseling using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches of care.
  • Timely documentation submission
  • Commitment to providing consistent, ongoing services to clients
  • Provide crisis intervention as necessary to enhance and restore functioning
  • Participate in coordination of care with a multi-disciplinary treatment team
  • Meet or exceed agency required productivity and documentation standards
  • Services are either provided in person or via Telehealth, depending on the client’s authorization and clinical needs.
  • For clients seen in-home, case assignments are organized by county location, typically within an hour or less of travel.
  • Other duties as assigned
