About The Position
Ampa is seeking a frontend-focused Fullstack Software Engineer to lead development of its neuromodulation technology and brain stimulator platform. The role spans frontend and backend systems used to control the stimulator, visualize data for healthcare providers, sync data with the cloud, support strong encryption, and provide a seamless user experience. The position offers an opportunity to help advance the company’s mental-health mission in a high-intensity, fast-changing startup environment, with potential to lead and mentor a growing team. The technology stack includes React and React Native on the frontend; Python and Node.js on the backend; PostgreSQL; and AWS services including ECS, CDK, Glue, Firehose, and EventBridge. The role may be performed remotely, in a hybrid arrangement, or in person, with locations in the United States’ Pacific or Mountain time zones. Compensation is described as competitive base pay plus strong equity. Employment is permanent, and Ampa will sponsor a TN visa or equivalent, but not an H1B visa.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of full-stack development experience.
- Experience with React or React Native and backend technologies such as Python or Node.js.
- Strong expertise in frontend architecture, API design, and data-driven development.
- Passion for the mission of eradicating depression.
- High motivation, openness to feedback, and ability to learn new skills as needed.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.

Responsibilities
- Design and maintain frontend and backend components.
- Develop and deploy web applications for managing patient data.
- Implement real-time 3D models and other data visualization tools.
- Develop and maintain APIs for frontend-backend communication.
- Collect and apply user feedback to improve the user experience.
- Manage and grow a talented group of engineers in India.
- Collaborate with other engineers to build the brain stimulator platform, sync data with the cloud, and support strong encryption.
