Full-Stack Web Developer (Citymapper)

We are seeking an exceptional Full-Stack Web Developer to join our team at Citymapper by Via. Our mission is to simplify city navigation for millions of users worldwide, providing them with accurate and up-to-date travel information. As a Full-Stack Web Developer, you will play a crucial role in developing our web applications, tools, and databases. Your expertise in React and front-end skills will be essential in creating visually appealing and functional applications. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve our software and contribute to the decision-making process. • Help develop web applications for consumers, tooling for agencies, and internal tools for Citymapper
• Build the front-end of applications with appealing visual design
• Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
• Write effective APIs
• Code, test, review, and ship back-end and front-end multiple times a week
• Provide expertise to guide the decision-making process in building great products
• Work with data scientists, analysts, developers, designers, and product managers to improve software
• Have a strong understanding of web development best practices and impressive front-end skills
• Utilize technologies such as React, Node, Typescript, GraphQL, and MUI
• Have at least 1 year of commercial web development experience
• Work in cross-functional teams
• Have experience working with maps and GeoJSON
• Be self-directed and driven
• Articulate technical ideas to non-technical individuals
• Take pride in the work done

• Strong understanding of best practices of web development and impressive front-end skills (ES6, JS)
• Commercial web development experience of at least 1 year
• Experience working in cross-functional teams
• Experience working with maps and GeoJSON a plus
• Self-directed and driven
• Ability to articulate super-nerdy ideas to people who don't have computer science degrees
