About the position
The Full-Stack Engineer role at Coast is a highly impactful and visible position within the company. As the engine behind client-facing features, the Full-Stack Engineer will work closely with Product and User Experience teams to shape, design, deliver, and maintain the features that set our product apart. This role requires the ability to work in a cross-functional team, meet velocity needs, and take ownership of the entire technology stack. The Full-Stack Engineer will contribute to the engineering culture, make technology and implementation choices, integrate third-party software and infrastructure, and drive automation and process improvement. The ideal candidate will have 4-6+ years of experience in engineering, proficiency in modern Python or similar languages, expertise in web development, and a passion for building exceptional products.
Responsibilities
- Build product features end-to-end, from web UI to services back end
- Help shape the initial engineering culture of the company
- Have a voice in early technology and implementation choices
- Work to evaluate and integrate critical third-party software and infrastructure including the payments and mobility stacks
- Challenge the team to automate, improve process, simplify, and raise the bar for quality
- Have 4-6+ years experience working with first-class engineering teams with a proven track record of frequent delivery of quality software to production
- Have experience with modern Python or a similar language ecosystem
- Have experience with modern web development, including JavaScript/TypeScript, component libraries, and modern frameworks (e.g. React, Vue)
- Have experience working in cross-functional agile teams in collaboration with product and design
- Have hands-on knowledge developing applications in the cloud (preferably AWS)
- Be pragmatic and get stuff done
- Be passionate about building amazing products for customers
- Be able to work independently with little oversight or management in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with high-energy and mission-driven colleagues.
